CrowdStack vs Asana

Asana is a general work management tool with timelines, goals and portfolios for every department. CrowdStack's Issues is a simple tracker for bugs, tasks and projects that lives beside the support inbox and the CRM. Here is how they line up, including where Asana still wins.

Why teams pick CrowdStack

Issues that know the customer

Turn a support ticket into an issue in one click, link it to the contact, and see it on their record beside their tickets and deals. Asana needs a help desk, a CRM and integrations between them to get close.

A tracker, not a second workspace

Statuses, projects, list and kanban, comments and mentions. Nothing to design before the team can log a bug, and no separate app to keep open beside the inbox.

One price for the whole stack

Asana plus a help desk plus a CRM is three bills. CrowdStack is £28 a user a month for issues, the help desk, the CRM, Stripe revenue, feedback and docs together.

Feedback and docs beside the backlog

A public feedback board feeds the issue list, and the wiki links to issues, tickets and contacts with @mentions. Asana has project briefs, but no help centre or public roadmap.

Where Asana is the better choice

We would rather you pick the right tool than pick us. Stay on Asana if you plan work across the whole company with timelines, goals and portfolios, need rules, forms and workload management, or rely on the Slack integration and the app directory. Asana is built for that. CrowdStack Issues is for teams who want a simple tracker for bugs, tasks and projects that support, product and sales will actually use, linked to the ticket and the customer it came from.

What is included

Common questions

Is CrowdStack an Asana alternative?

For tracking bugs, tasks and projects, yes. CrowdStack Issues has statuses, projects, list and kanban views, comments, visibility controls and links to tickets and contacts, and comes with the help desk, CRM, Stripe revenue, feedback board and wiki. It does not have timelines, goals, portfolios, rules, forms or workload management.

How does the price compare for a team of five?

Five users on CrowdStack cost £140 a month at the full rate, with every product and 2500 pooled AI credits included. Five users on Asana Starter list at about $67 a month, or $152 on Advanced; a help desk and a CRM are two more bills. As a task tool Asana Starter is cheaper; as a stack it is not.

Can I import my tasks from Asana?

Tasks export from Asana as CSV and import as issues with title, description, status, assignee and project mapped across. Email us at support@crowdstack.org before you switch and we will walk through the mapping with you.

What does Asana have that CrowdStack does not?

Timeline, Gantt and calendar views, goals and portfolios, rules and a workflow builder, forms, workload and time tracking, a Slack integration, an app directory and a free plan. If you are planning work for the whole company rather than tracking issues, Asana is the better fit today.
