CrowdStack vs Slab

Slab is a focused, well-made wiki with unified search across the tools you already use. CrowdStack's Docs is a team wiki that lives beside the inbox, the CRM and the issue tracker, and links to all of them. Here is how they line up, including where Slab still wins.

Why teams pick CrowdStack

Docs that link to the work

Slab searches across your other tools. CrowdStack Docs mentions tickets, contacts, deals and issues in one page and shows backlinks on each of them, so the runbook, the customer and the bug all point at each other without a search.

One tool, one login

The runbook for a support issue sits beside the tickets it explains. Sales notes sit beside the deal. Nobody keeps a second app open or pastes URLs between them.

API and permissions on every seat

Workspace-wide or restricted pages with full, edit or view rights per teammate, plus API access, on the one plan. Slab holds the API and webhooks for Business.

One price for the whole stack

Slab plus a help desk plus a CRM plus a tracker is four bills. CrowdStack is £28 a user a month for docs, the help desk, the CRM, Stripe revenue, issues and feedback together.

Where Slab is the better choice

We would rather you pick the right tool than pick us. Stay on Slab if you want unified search across Slack, GitHub, Google Drive and the rest of your tools, real-time co-editing, templates, content verification and version history, or a free plan for a small team. Slab is a better writing tool with a lighter touch than most. CrowdStack Docs is for teams who want a simple wiki in the same place as the inbox, the CRM and the issues, where every page can point at the ticket, the customer or the bug it is about.

What is included

Common questions

Is CrowdStack a Slab alternative?

For a team wiki, yes. CrowdStack Docs has a rich text editor with a slash menu, nested pages, search, per-teammate permissions, archive, and @mentions that link to tickets, contacts, deals and issues with backlinks both ways, and it comes with the help desk, CRM, Stripe revenue, issues and feedback board. It does not have unified search across other tools, real-time co-editing, templates, verification or version history.

How does the price compare for a team of five?

Five users on CrowdStack cost £140 a month at the full rate, with every product and 2500 pooled AI credits included. Five users on Slab are free, or $40 a month on Startup and $75 on Business; a help desk, a CRM and a tracker are three more bills. As a wiki Slab is cheaper; as a stack it is not.

Can I import my posts from Slab?

Posts export from Slab as Markdown and import into Docs with headings, lists, code and tables preserved and topics mapped to the page tree. Email us at support@crowdstack.org before you switch and we will walk through it with you.

What does Slab have that CrowdStack does not?

Unified search across your other tools, real-time collaborative editing, templates and content verification, version history, AI writing, a Slack integration, integrations with GitHub, Jira, Linear, Asana and Google Drive, and a free plan. If the wiki is the only thing you are replacing, Slab is the better fit today.
